About Us
The Local Christian Assembly (LCA) was founded in 1978 by the late Rev. Peter Chandler, during a period in London when many churches were closing and church premises were being repurposed. At that time, there was a marked spiritual decline across Britain, which deeply concerned the founder.
Rev. Peter Chandler often shared a profound near-death experience he had at the age of nineteen. This encounter became a defining moment in his life and marked the beginning of a lifelong spiritual calling.
He later became a born-again Christian, dedicating his life to serving the Lord. During this time, he was introduced to the teachings of Rev. William Marrion Branham through a sermon book that had a significant and lasting impact on his faith and ministry.
With a deep burden to evangelise, Rev. Chandler felt called to share the Message, particularly among Pentecostal believers in London. In 1978, he and his wife began the work that would become the first Church of Message believers in London. What started as a small evangelical outreach soon grew into a committed and established body of believers.
Rev. Chandler’s wife was his first convert. She sat alone, surrounded by rows of vacant chairs, as he preached faithfully to her, trusting in God that one day this humble beginning would blossom into a thriving ministry.
Through the preaching of the Word, people from diverse nationalities, cultures, races, and religious backgrounds were brought together under the teaching of the Spoken Word.
The Local Christian Assembly is a registered charity, established in accordance with legal requirements, and operates in line with its charitable objectives
